Avoid Getting into HR Hot Water This Party Season

November 3rd 2017

The DSC team love an excuse to socialise so with the festive season approaching, it seemed appropriate to offer some practical tips for businesses on smooth planning of the annual office Christmas party.

Inevitably there will be mention of the tax and VAT consequence of the Christmas party and any seasonal gifts you might be considering for the team, customers and suppliers; and what planning can take place most tax efficiently.

This is also a busy time of year for HR professionals and employment lawyers which is why we have teamed up with Berwins Solicitors to remind you of the rules around entertaining your staff, suppliers and clients this Christmas and what can happen if the party goes wrong.

Employers are responsible for the protection and safety of employees and these rules still apply at the office party. With the help of Mike Patterson at Berwins, we’ll be looking at some interesting legal case studies and important employment law issues.

Join us for breakfast, networking and knowledge on Friday 10th and Friday 24th November 2017 at 8am at The Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate. The event is FREE but places must be booked in advance. Breakfast will be available beforehand and we will finish the discussion no later than 10am.

During the meeting we will look at:

• Tax and VAT rules and perks
• Gifts for employees, suppliers and customers
• Employment law issues
• Interesting legal cases and Christmas party case studies.
