HARROGATE ACCOUNTANTS PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH

A MAJOR regional employment award has been scooped by Harrogate chartered accountants and business Advisors DSC.

The practice has won the Star Employer of 2006 award from West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants for its achievements in business development, staff training, service and client care.

Nomination for the award came from the practice’s own team members who praised DSC for being forward thinking and providing lots of opportunities for personal and career development in which care, trust and respect were core values.

The nomination also said that the introduction of flexitime had been central in creating a good work-life balance, which helped boost performance and productivity.

The award was presented to DSC’ senior partner, John Campbell and managing partner, Simon Pease by BBC TV business breakfast correspondent, Declan Curry, at a dinner and award ceremony at Leeds Town Hall last week (Friday Sept 29).

The award came after DSC, which has 27 team members, had held two of its business breakfast meetings on creating a high achievement culture.

DSC managing partner, Simon Pease, says:  “Having just spent a couple of mornings talking about how to create a work environment where people can thrive both personally and professionally, we are delighted to have won this award. It proves that we practice what we preach.”
